Senior C++ Engineer
Exciting new opportunity for a dynamic Senior C++ Engineer to join a top-notch team and eventually step into a Lead role. Depending on the exact project you are on you will be 20% new development and 80% maintenance work, some projects are more new development and some are more maintenance work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build high-performing, large scale applications that enable an optimal consumer experience.
- Translate what people want (our clients and their customers) into products that work—exceptionally well. You’ll make this happen by leading and cooperating with other programmers and quality assurance experts across our company as well as with 3rd party companies/products.
- Participate in an agile development team, implementing user stories with automated testing to verify acceptance criteria.
- Identify and fix production defects, using modern practices to increase and monitor SW reliability, quality and maintainability.
- Be part of a global, collaborative team who is always on the hunt for ways to improve and upgrade our products.
This is a direct hire opportunity You will be 100% remote 2 days a week but you will be required to come into the office a minimum of 3 days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday) a week. REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 8+ years of working knowledge in wide variety of platforms and languages such as C++, .NET, Java, Golang, JS, Python, etc.
- 5+ years of C++ development experience
- Great sense of ownership and accountability
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to drive results professionally and tactfully
- Ability to solve complex issues and drive solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to mentor others
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Cloud, Linux and Windows development experience
- Test automation experience using gtest, Cucumber, Behave, Gherkin
- Computer HW, Networking, TCP/IP Socket level communications experience
- Experience in database design and creation of complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers and performance optimization
- Preferred Retail experience, especially in the Convenience Store industry and Point of Sale systems
- Technical Lead experience
- GCP
- JavaScript
